Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), one of the eight participating Indian Premier League (IPL) teams, is in no mood to give up on the cheerleaders. NDTV Imagine and Red Chillies have extended their partnership with a reality show, ‘Knights and Riders’. Auditions for the cheerleaders were conducted across the country, but eventually only six would be selected for the cheerleading squad.
Commenting on the series, Shahrukh Khan, part owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders team, said, “We are very excited about the whole challenge of finding the best cheerleading squad for our Knights. These girls will become a key part of our quest for victory.”
Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly said, “I have never been a judge before. It is equally exciting and nerve-wracking for me, and I’m really looking forward to a whole new experience.”
Shailja Kejriwal, EVP Content, NDTV Imagine, said, “Take King Khan’s Knight, add supremely talented dancers and pretty faces… mix in some great music and dance moves… add a generous dose of our iconic judge and his beautiful co-judges, and top it off with our exuberant host and what you get is six weekends of pure entertainment. Prince Ashoke (Shahrukh Khan), heir to the Magadha Kingdom, bowing to his mother's (Shilpa Mehta) demand forsakes his princely status and goes to live in the wild for awhile. There he meets and falls in love with Kaurwaki (Kareena Kapoor). He identifies himself as Pawan, not wanting to disclose his identity yet. Ashoke has to return to Magadha, but when he returns to find and wed Kaurwaki, he is told by Bheema (Rahul Dev) that Kaurwaki and her brother Arya have been killed. Devastated Ashoke returns home. On the way home he is attacked and Devi (Hrishitaa Bhatt), of the Buddhist faith rescues him and tends to him till he gets well. As a result, Devi's marriage to her groom is cancelled. Ashoke weds her and brings her to Magadha, only to be told by his father that since Devi is not of the same race as he, she cannot be welcomed. Ashoke leaves with Devi and lives in Ujjaini. Soon Devi gets pregnant, and this arouses jealously and hatred amongst Ashoke's step-brothers. As a result they plot to kill Devi, however, their plans are foiled by Ashoke's mother, who is killed. Ashoke swears to avenge his mother's death by killing his step-brothers one by one, except for one, who has led to Kalinga. Ashoke asks the ruler of Kalings to turn over his step-brother to him, and they refuse. Ashoke swears to raze Kalinga to the ground. Ashoke is unstoppable. Even his close friend, Virat (Danny Denzongpa), too, is unable to stop Ashoke. Ashoke proceeds to war, little knowing that the queen of Kalinga is none other than Kaurwaki, who is still alive.

Aditya has been constantly changing decisions on the cast and the crew of his upcoming trilogy (if it can be called so) Dhoom 3. But one thing was fixed that after Sanjay Gadhvi deciding to part ways with Yash Raj Films, Aditya himself will be directing the movie but now even that remains under thought. Aditya is now thinking of giving the project to Scriptwriter Vikram Krishna Acharya. Dhoom 3 will be Vikram’s directorial debut.
Acharya wrote the screenplay and dialogue of both Dhoom versions and the dialogue for Pyaar Ke Side Effects and Guru, and is writing the script for Dhoom 3 as well. Chopra plans to start filming towards the second half of the year, around the time that Gadhvi starts filming his first movie outside Yashraj, for Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision. That’s not all… And he has planned a casting coup with Shah Rukh Khan (in a negative role) and Aamir Khan hot on his heels as the policeman. What’s more, Hrithik Roshan will also be a part of the project, insists the source, although he may not have a fullfledged role. “Adi wants to make it a multi-starrer. It all depends on how the script shapes up but he’s definitely keen on pairing both the Khans together for the first time and also Hrithik Roshan,” says the source. Lagta hai ladai badi dhoom se hone wali hai!!!
